Yellowing
Emma Seely-Katz

Why do we fear uncertainty? The poems in Yellowing explore that feeling through hysterical and heartbreaking accounts of anatomy, food, Judaica, Greek mythology and queerness. Written over the course of a winter, yellowing is the effect of emotional estrangement.

Emma Seely-Katz is an archetypal Pisces and a student at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York where she’s pursuing a BFA in sculpture and philosophy. Every word she writes is a love note to the women in her life, especially her mother, sister, and grandmother, who taught her every loving word she knows.
